This is the time of year when winter feels like it may just last forever. The holidays are over and the new year is in full swing and I find myself saying, enough already! I try to think about tulips and Steelhead Trout and spring fishing in the Rocky River.
Yesterday, Nashville enjoyed a glimpse of spring with a sunny, 60 degree day. It was wonderful.
After spending November, December and some of January in Canada, we headed back to Nashville to jump into the new year and the exciting plans we have for it. It was great to see some of you at my annual Day After Christmas show at The Barking Spider www.barkingspidertavern.com and at The Music Box Supper Club www.musicboxcle.com on December 21st. I really thought I would not make the Barking Spider show. I got some bug the night before and actually called to say I could not do the show. But at the 11th hour, I had a wave of feeling ok. I could stand without feeling like I was going to be sick. So I got dressed and drove over to that lovely spot on Cleveland’s east side and did a show brought to you compliments of Pepto Bismol!
I’m so glad I could make it and to see you there.
Tomorrow I begin the process of recording a new CD. My producer is Mike Severs whose resume includes playing on number one records with Dolly Parton, Alabama and Kenny Chesney, and pop & rock credits with Brian and Carl Wilson, Paul Simon and Steve Winwood. Mike’s production credits include Don McClean, Felix Cavaliere (Rascals), Joy Styles for Sony/Red River and Kate Markowitz (James Taylor).
It’s going to be a great time and a great CD, maybe my best yet. I’m currently looking at a late June release. Those of you who have been asking where you can get songs like “Go Get Joe”, “Harris” and “Probably Should”, it’ll be on my 2015 release. I’ll also begin creating a Kickstarter Campaign and I will be coming to you to ask you to get involved in making this recording and release a reality. They’ll be lots of cool rewards for your generous contributions including a pre-release CD at your door, house concerts and a co-write with yours truly.
This time around I’m including all the bells and whistles regarding promotion. I’ll be hiring a publicist, a radio promoter and social media expert (thank you Lord). We’re gonna see how far we can go!
I’m grateful to my buddy Frye and Erin for convincing me that this is a good idea and for helping to plot and plan.
I’ve been filling my calendar with dates in Alabama, North Carolina and Georgia in addition to my Cleveland/Akron shows. Venturing into some new territory. Be sure to check www.anneedechant.com to check out the unfolding schedule.
So let’s all stay bundled up for a while longer enjoy the quiet joys of hibernation and look forward to this…
Peace and Joy to you all,
Anne E.
