Well it's just Wednesday and already I've already had a blast. On Monday I went on a Charter Fishing Trip which was one of the perks of my Indiegogo Campaign The best part is that it was my mom who grabbed that perk so I got to go Walleye fishing with my mom and dad...Wooo Hooo! We boarded "Noah's Ark" with Captain Moses and headed out of Lorain Harbor at 6am Monday morning. If you want to catch fish and learn HOW to catch fish, "Noah's Ark Charter Fishing" is your choice. Here's proof... Thank you Captain Moses for your beautiful gift to me and and my music. I got to spend a wonderful day with my mom and dad and that is priceless! I am grateful. Thanks to my mom and dad for being first in on the Indiegogo Campaign. That was Monday. Tuesday I had the anthem at Progressive Field. Shari Bair and Teri contributed to the Indiegogo Campaign and selected the "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" perk. They met me at the Home of the Tribe. The darling Reggie, my liason at Progressive Field , met us, took us down to the belly of the stadium where we got to see some great photos and bumped into President of The Cleveland Indians, Mark Shapiro. Mark gave me the opportunity to be there last night. Sheri, Teri and I were taken to one of the suites where people hang out and have a bite to eat before heading to their seats which are those you see that are at the level of the dugouts. There was a rain delay so we hung out for a bit. Then we discovered the door that led us to the field right behind home plate so we went to check that out. It's quite a perspective. There we ran into this guy... "Mustard"! Then it was time to sing. I have to stand at the tip of the "Indians" painted on the grass near home plate and wait till I hear the words "National Anthem". Then it's "go". So I had my phone with a recording of me singing the first line of the song so my pitch was right....You do not want to start this song in the wrong key! Then off I went.... Here's a glimpse... Just a little pressure I've watched so many "bad" versions of the anthem, so many lyric flubs, that I was freaking out about that a bit. I knew I can sing it but I was worried about a blank where lyrics are concerned. I had asked if the words would be on the Jumbotron and was told yes but when I started and looked up I just saw my big head and no words! But I knew I knew it and did what you're supposed to and that's tell the story. I made it! It was fun. I love when you get to, "...and the rocket's red glare" and you know you're home free. I don't mess with the anthem. No vocal tricks. I think Francis Scott Key would appreciate that. Doesn't he look pleased? Check out Maya Rudolph's version of The Star Spangled Banner. I think Sir Francis would have a different face. Honestly, it's THE premier version. She channels every bad performance and puts them into one version. The BEST!!!! Treat yourself to Maya Rudolph's National Anthem After I finished I joined Shari, Teri and my good friend Anne Candella and we were escorted to our seats. That's when Anne let me know her brother called and said they aired me singing on TV!!!! I started getting text and FB messages. I'm not going to lie, it was great!!!! Thanks to all of you who posted, wrote and shared photos. Special thanks to D Michael Harris for the photos. Thank you so much to Shari and Teri for their contribution to my Indiegogo Campaign. You shined the light on a new day and I'm grateful! Here we are.... Now it's on to tomorrow, Thursday, July 9 and "Downtown at Dusk" at the Akron Art Museum. The band and I will be there from 6:30-8:30pm. The Museum has refreshments and some light food for sale. Always a great time. If it rains, you are under cover so we're on! The only exception is if it pours which we all know is possible. But I will let you know if that happens. Friday, July 10 @ 10pm, Pete, Kelly and I will be at the awesome Barking Spider Tavern. If you like an intimate setting and a room where people like to listen, this is it. Also they've got a great patio out front and picnic tables in the back. Join us Friday. Saturday, July 11, I head south to Columbus for a show at Natialie's Coal Fired Pizza and Music, another great music room. Joining me will be Tim Longfellow on keys and Erik Diaz on drums. Tickets are $10 and we start at 10pm. Please let your buddies in Columbus know. Sunday, July 12 @ 11:30am-2:30pm I'll be at Mustard Seed Cafe in Akron (Fairlawn). Casual atmosphere, bar, great buffet and menu. That's the story from here. I thank all of you who have come out to my shows in the Cleveland/Akron area for my summer series of shows in Ohio and I look forward to 4 more days of great shows and seeing you all. Anne E.
