It's hard to believe that once again, we're all discussing another awful day in our country. My friend and co-writer Frye Gaillard shared the following on Sunday....
" To those who like to say, God Bless America, I prefer a different prayer for the country as we continue our drift toward violence, division and hate. May God have mercy upon us."
I will be at The Avon Lake United Church of Christ on Sunday at 11am where the deadly violence in Orlando will surely be a topic. I will share "Light the Weary World" sadly, in light of the murder of 49 people, physical injury to 50 plus as well as emotional, life-changing injury to I'm sure to my brothers and sisters present, their friends and family. God Bless You Orlando.
"Light the Weary World" is available below to download at no cost.
I pray that we will move toward solutions in quelling gun violence, addressing and providing FUNDING for mental health services and improving security. But I will not only pray. I will sign petitions. I will write my representatives. I will sing to the idea of peace and action as in the song below. Silence on the floor of Congress is not enough. I pray for the wisdom and commitment to take meaningful ACTION.
May God have mercy on us,
Anne E.
