"The Sun Coming In" continues its climb on the Americana charts. Last week we added 9 stations and climbed 32 places from 457 to 425. It's a long way to the top 10...just keep swimming. Thanks to stations: WMNR FM - Monroe, CT WRUW FM - Cleveland, OH KBRP FM - Bisbee, AZ KXCI FM - Tucson, AZ KCSB FM - Santa Barbara, CA KCSS FM - Turlock, CA for playing my music! If there's an Americana station (college stations, indie stations, npr stations usually have this format) in your town where you'd like to hear me played send me the station name, contact info. for that station and the host and show you listen to. You can email me at annee@anneedechant.com I want to be where you are so please drop me a line. I'm so excited to announce that I will be joining Dee Perry on NPR station WCPN in Cleveland OH on Dec. 8th to talk about my new CD, my show "Watermelon Wine and the Poetry of Americana Music" and to play a few songs live. Kelly and Pete will join me. Dee is a fantastic host who does her homework and always has some great questions for me. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Dec. 8 @ 2pm! WCPN 90.3FM Cleveland or online at http://www.ideastream.org/programs/live Host extraordinaire, Dee Perry. The Sound of Applause WCPN 90.3 FM, Cleveland For a long while now I've been wanting to do some consistent charity work. I have done many shows over the years that help raise money for various charities but I've never had my own consistent focus in giving back. The other night I was lying in bed thinking and something came to me. It was "Small Things, Big Love". I could do something called that. I would use the online platform StageIt to perform shows in order to raise money for someone who needs a little financial help and a little support. StageIt is an online venue where artists perform live, interactive, monetized shows for their fans directly from a laptop. You can use StageIt to raise money for your own projects but also to raise money for others. My StageIt shows would be set up to do just that They would also offer support in the form of an online audience, sharing encouraging messages with that person while the show is streaming. So you might join me in my living room, on my patio, my hotel room (that's not appropriate) or anywhere I might choose to sit down and play you a few tunes. To get "Small Things, Big Love" started I'm asking friends, family and fans to write to me with a story about someone who needs a good dose of love and a little extra cash or a donation of something to help get them through a challenge in their life. You can just write me a paragraph or two (I'm not a fast reader and I prefer movies, so the briefer, yes that's a word!, the better) with the story of someone you know who could use a dose of love. I'll read every story sent, choose one to focus on (hopefully we can do a show for everyone whose story I read) and create a show to help generate support for that person/persons. Anyone who sends in the request, whose story I can share and do a show around will become that show's promoter. You're job will be to post the show on FB, your mailing list, Twitter, Instagram etc. and invite people to attend the show. You'll share info (I'll give it to you) with them to make it easy for them to open a StageIt account (it's easy and costs nothing) and buy a "pay what you want" ticket to the show. Then I'll perform a live streamed show (never archived, it's a live show) for all those who purchased a ticket. You can watch it online from wherever you are. There is a virtual where you can contribute to the person or persons we are giving our love to. We may even have someone write in during the show who says they can help get with a specific item this person may need. I know of someone right now who needs new tires for their car. If we did a StageIt show for that person, who knows, someone in the audience may have a set of tires to give! All money raised (after StageIt takes their cut...they can't do it for free), all anyone gives, will go directly to our VIP guest. Don't be afraid, this won't be like a political campaign where you are being constantly asked to give money. I hate that. All applicants to "Small Things, Big Love" will be the main marketer for the concert. It is the applicant's job to reach out to their contacts to promote the show. That way we won't continually go to the same group of people. Yes, I will share with my mailing list and other social media but it won't be a hard sell, I promise. So if you know someone who could use a little help, share their story with me and we'll see what we can do together to send them some love! I'm so excited about the possibilities here! Remember... Let's Do It!!!!!! After Thanksgiving, I'll be headed to Alabama to perform a string of shows. I'm excited to have been invited to play at the Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm in Silverhill Alabama. I'll be performing on Sunday Nov. 29th @ 3pm with Grayson Capps, Cheley Tackett, Lisa Mills and Corky Hughes. Then it's on to All Saints Episcopal Church in Mobile on Tues., Dec. 1 to perform "Watermelon Wine and the Poetry of Americana Music" with my buddy Frye Gaillard. One Thursday, Dec. 3, I'm honored to be at The Hank Williams Museum and Boyhood Home in Georgiana AL to share "Watermelon Wine and the Poetry of Americana Music" with the beautiful people there. Jasper, AL hosts us on Fri., Dec. 4th for "Music Downtown" Then I think I'll go home and do The Viva NashVegas Radio Show on Sat., Dec. 6th (Details at https://www.anneedechant.com/shows) then fly to Cleveland on the 7th for my interview on the 8th and a show at The Phantasy Concert Club in Lakewood on Dec. 12th (Details at https://www.anneedechant.com/shows). That's all I know right now except one more thing.... Thanks to my good buddy John Aquino for having me out to his place in beautiful Charleston SC last week. John is like the mayor there, in fact that's what I've begun calling him. Everywhere (I mean everywhere) we went someone knew him and better than that, genuinely loves the guy. John introduced me to a lot of venue owners, event planners etc. so that I can include Charleston in my spring tour. John you're awesome and I thank you!!!!! Here we are at the Lowcountry Hoedown last Saturday... Anne E. and John Aquino, Lowcountry Hoedown, Charleston SC Have a great weekend! Anne E.
