Hello, hello!
I hope your summer was a time for family and friends and some real R & R. I've been "one poor correspondent"...For me the season was one where lots of things, many very challenging, came up and needed tending so this newsletter was put in the corner for a bit. But I'm back baby and glad to be talking with you again. The rest of 2018 and 2019, from a music perspective, looks terrific. I feel a call, more than ever, to be out and about performing, getting to know people, you, more, and hanging out with my band, sharing music that pours some love into the places we go.
This Wednesday, October 10, I'll have the pleasure of opening for multi *Juno-nominated Canadian singer/songwriter, Royal Wood. Royal and I will be at The Holland Theatre in Bellefontaine Ohio.
*(Juno-think of it as the Canadian Grammy...pls Canadians, don't be upset with me. In the spirit of you all, "I'm sorry")
Bellefontaine,
Belle what?
Here it is: the green star! Bellefontaine; 48 miles northwest of Columbus and home to the highest (topographically) point in Ohio.
And guess what else?
Hell yes!
Seriously, come and join us for a beautiful night of music. Concrete roads will lead you smoothly and safely to the gorgeous Holland Theatre, the only Dutch-style atmospheric theatre in the United States. It's magic when they dim the house lights!

Mid-October marks the start of the With Music and Justice Tour! This 3-week road trip to Florida UCCs, was 3 years in the making. Author, Frye Gaillard and I will finally head out to share our spoken word and song program with these gracious congregations and their surrounding communities. A huge thanks to Rev. John Vertigan of Florida and Tim Harris of Insurance Board for their instrumental effort in making this tour a reality. We begin in Gainesville FL on Oct. 16 and travel through north and central Florida. We are very proud of this show and I'm especially proud of my friend, co-writer and author of A Hard Rain: America in the 1960s, Our Decade of Hope, Possibility, and Innocence Lost
“Masterful… Gaillard writes with determination to make the events of the 1960s relevant. He is a gifted storyteller, and I’m giving copies of this book to my sons and daughter to help them understand how we got to now.”
– Timothy J. McNulty, The Chicago Tribune

I'll continue to keep you updated on more exciting news. For now, enjoy your weekend and I'll see you soon!

"There's virtue in honesty and in intuition, and in openness, and in tough-minded decency. Those things may or may not make for fine art. In the hands, heart, and voice of Anne E. DeChant, they may, they might, and they do."
